Local Block

Back home – zipped around the neighbourhood. 12 blocks. Yawn. Will fill this space with a picture of Shaggy. I fell in love with this dog at Willow and Nicco’s the other day. He was fun and affectionate.

Calgary, Continued

The walk started in Glenmore Park, my old haunting ground – that’s it in the picture above. It was blustery and windy. We completed our walk in Stanley Park, a nice stroll up hill, followed by a nice stroll down hill, avoiding some drunk revelers with a BBQ pit, lamented at the state of the…

Calgary

35 minute walk through Britannia. Can’t get over the demolishing of stately older homes, and the influx of botox and implant type housing.  The house in the image below is next door to Michael’s mum’s place. That lovely stone work? Fake! Look at the box. Sad isn’t it? Took a late night drive, which had…

Coney Island

Our lack of sour citrus slices motivated us to walk to Coney Island Sweets on Whyte avenue on Friday night. The avenue is full of all things interesting in the early hours of the evening. Our stroll took us along the river valley and we could hear and see the crowd at Telus field for…

Grrrr

Not a good day. Did the walk, however, and it was theraputic. The 12 block route was on the menu, but to spice things up we did it during the brief windy, rainy, thundery storm we had this evening. Got soaked, but it felt nice!

After a dinner of butter chicken and naan, you’d think I’d want to climb a few hills, cross a few rivers, and run with a pack on my back to wear off the calories. Instead, I fell asleep on the chair. Michael, my motivator, got me at least to do the 12 block walk in…

Yawn

18 + bonus 2 block walk. Had a burst of energy you see.

Downtown and in Old Strathcona

Wandered around downtown whilst waiting to see Julia/Julie. A great film. That Meryl Streep is amazing as Julia Child. We hit the Italian Centre Shop to load up on all things Italian. Came home and ate the Italian stuff, and concluded our day with a wander through Old Strathcona. The usual 12 block walk, with…

Farmer’s Market & Weenie Roast at My Cousin’s

Strolled over to the Farmer’s Market yesterday, and that was the extent of my walking. Unless you count vacuuming the apartment… and walking from the fire pit to the loo at my cousins. It was a great evening – Michael and my cousins child setting off a rocket with baking soda and vinegar as the…
