Corn Flakes

Sometimes, this Walsh refuses to cook, and this afternoon, after an exhilarating weekend of visiting, eating out, doing this, and doing that, decided on a quick and simple snack.

A bowl of Corn Flakes.

Here we have the Corn Flakes:

And here we have a bowl full of Corn Flakes:

Although they were patented in 1895, and created for strict vegetarians, as well as those who shun tobacco, alcohol, caffeine and sex, they are amazingly yummy.

Dr. Kellogg would shake his head in despair if he saw the likes of me enjoying his beloved Corn Flakes. Especially since I ate them with unabashed joy – crunching and slurping my way through a bowl of those toasted flakes of corny goodness.

Corn Flakes. Not just for breakfast.

Yum. I just had a bowl of Apple Jacks. My brother sent me one of the limited edition boxes last month – I guess they no longer sell them in Canada.
I loved them as a child, but now… well, nostalgia only!

Corn flakes will always be good. In fact corn anything is good. YUM!

Oh I LOOOOOOOOVED Apple Jacks!!! Lucky you! Not sure what I’d think of them now, but Froot Loops have stood the test of time, so I’m sure Apple Jacks would too! 🙂

I’ll have to remember to check these out next time I’m in the USA. I’m always looking for the cool candy that we see advertised and not get – didn’t occur to me to check out cereal too! Maybe I’ll get reunited with my old fav (enter jingle) “A is for apple, J is for the Jacks, cinnamon toasty Apple Jacks!”
