Rainy Saturday

First, a welcome to Miami Culinary Tours to Walsh Cooks, and a warm hug to all my Followers, public,  anonymous, or just passing through. If I could, I would give each of you a fresh-baked chocolate chip cookie, just out of the oven. But you are stuck with a picture. You will remain thin. I am getting fatter, because I enjoy eating my own baking.

Nom. Nom. They are quite yummy if I do say so myself. The recipe is the classic Chipits recipe found on the back of the chocolate chip bag (omitting the nuts because my hubby is picky that way). These cookies turn out perfect every time, and has got to be THE best air freshener for a house, and makes for an amorous husband. Very similar to Alec Baldwin with Meryl Streep in It’s Complicated when he purrs, “I love it when you smell like butter”.

The inspiration for today’s cookie baking fest was a post by Facebook friend Jared Richardson. He posted this brilliant photo he found on the web:

These Cookie Monsters are actually cupcakes. Genius! I could always relate to the Cookie Monster. He and I have a lot in common, particularly our appetites.

It is a cool rainy, snowy, rainy day here in Edmonton, perfect for baking, watching DVDs and asking one’s husband to do the grocery shopping. Our lilac bush is loving it, and I’m sure I could hear it scream that it wanted a shot taken right away because it couldn’t hold its magnificent pose much longer. Here it is:

I hear the kettle clicking off, meaning it’s TEA TIME! Earl Grey, of course. So off I go, already forgetting my promise to eat Only One cookie.

  1. I agree with your husband. TRUE chocolate chip cookies do not have nuts. We must both be purists that way.
