Today marks our 6th wedding anniversary! I always feel that that must include an asterisk because we have been together since June 1986.
My Mom sent us an e-mail, and it included this quote: “Married couples who love each other tell each other a thousand things without talking” –Chinese Proverb
This was in response to my sister having a small bird because during Christmas, Michael and I were apparently communicating with each other using only segments of sentences. She claims we had an entire conversation like this. I have no recollection of the event, but I do know that Michael and I just “get” each other 99% of the time and a certain look with a twitch of an eyebrow can speak volumes.
We’ve been through a lot, my Mickey and I. We have stood beside each other during life’s nasty turns, but we get through those and concentrate on celebrating life’s simple pleasures. We are grateful for our amazing friendship, fascinated that our love for each other grows with each passing day, and most importantly, that we adore being in each others company.
And tonight we will celebrate this by eating raw fish. It’s a table for two at Furusato, a large bottle of sake, a heap of sashimi, and a plate of tempura.
