Everybody Goes to Mitzi’s

Yesterday. Yesterday we did the usual walk through the neighbourhood. Cold. But we did it. Tonight. Tonight we walked to the Varscona theatre and watched Everybody Goes to Mitzi’s. I’m pooped from laughing. It was a great show, and I highly recommend seeing it. Sorry I’m too tired to give it the words of praise…

Yesterday and Today

Okay, I’m well into two months of diarizing my walks, and now I’m getting lazy in my writing. I’ve ditched the dates, and you will just have to trust that I’m doing my daily walk. Yesterday I did two spins around the neighbourhood. Once early in the afternoon after lunch, before the storm, and a…

Neighbourhood Sights and Stinky Smells

We extended our usual neighbourhood walk to include a block along 82 Avenue. This means we got to walk through clouds of cigarette smoke. *cough* Once past all that, the colours of the trees are lovely, and the leaves are starting to crunch underfoot.

Run for a Cure

Today I participated in a 5 km walk with 9,800 others to help find a cure for breast cancer. It was chilly out, but the Jiggly Wigglies walked again another year. Thanks to Michael, Mom, Ed, Patti, Auntie Anne, Auntie Ev, Carlee, Caitlin, David, Sean, Ramona, Sandra, Jenny and Willow for participating this year!

River Valley

Full of the previous night’s Warsteiner beer, thought I should go for a walk to clear my head. Took an hour long walk through the river valley late in the morning. The colours of the valley are changing, the smell in the air marvelous, the air was crisp and cleansing. It was a nice walk…

Ziky-Zaky-Ziky-Zaky-Oy! Oy! Oy!

Oktoberfest!! First things first, a busy day at work, with a small interlude before our Oktoberfest festivities. The challenge was there about the whole walk thing. I was tired after work. Had things to do before going out for the evening. But still, got myself out the door and did the 12 block walk through…

Walking Walking

Today was a long 9 block walk from the Running Room home. 9 blocks doesn’t sound long, but it’s the long side of an Edmonton block AND I had a backpack AND a heavy bag to carry AND I was wearing my winter coat, so I built up some heat and hopefully burned a few…

Groceries

A 14 block walk to get groceries this evening. Don’t worry, I had Michael to carry the groceries home. I think we have to pick up the pace of our walk though. We seem to stroll, and don’t even break a sweat. Oh well. At least we are outside!

Again

14 blocks. The extra two blocks were to fetch a tea things. Beginning to understand that “tea things” are counter-acting the benefits of the walk.
