Tienda Latina Lunch!

Our friends Bernardo and Carlos at Tienda Latina, not only have Edmonton’s best shop for all things Latino, but they also make one helluva a great roast beef torta (sandwich).

If you are hungry at lunchtime, and happen to be driving by the intersection of Argyll Road and 99th Street (Edmonton) pull into the N.E. corner strip mall and walk in to Tienda Latina and order the roast beef sandwich.

It is served up on the freshest crusty bun, along with mayo, fresh crisp lettuce, real roast beef, tomato, avocado, red onion and a chili paste that will make you shout “OLE!” followed by a mariachi band playing in your head for the remainder of the day.

Your torta will be warmed in a panini press, but not squashed flat. It will be wrapped like a present in paper wrap for you to take away.

One sandwich will satisfy a big appetite. Highly recommend NOT sharing between two people unless both parties have delicate appetites and the relationship has withstood the test of life’s ups and downs already. The sandwich is that fresh and delicious that fighting over who gets the last crumb is a very real possibility.  😀

Enjoy!

I am pretty sure you won’t regret it. When you do try it, let me know what you think. I’ve only had the beef sandwich, but Twyla Campbell (Weird and Wonderful) posted something about a chicken sandwich too. Yum.

I love that place. My kid and I went in there before Christmas looking for Guava paste. He got teased about his Kiss shirt and I picked up my paste and some oregano, while ohhing and awwing over all their super cool products.
