Around 12 months ago I made cupcakes, but slathered on the icing using a spatula. This time around I thought I’d fancy things up and attempt using a home-made piping bag. The great oracle Google coughed up a few piping bag ideas, and I took those suggestions and made my own Walsh-Bag-2010(TM). I won’t share my new found piping bag folding secret with you, primarily because I couldn’t. In total, I had made four bags, each one turned out a wee bit different.
So without further ado, and with the pride of a Kindergarten kid coming home with a coloured piece of construction paper with macaroni and glitter glued to it, allow me the pleasure of sharing my afternoon cupcake decorating session with you all.
First up, is my first attempt at the piping bag. I call this design The Dog Doo:
Not bad for a first time, won’t you agree? Gaining a bit more confidence, I now present Abstract Blobs:
Hey! This isn’t so bad. Now having images of owning my own cupcake shop in my head, I bring you The Weave:
Forget the Cupcake Shop, my imagination has me on The Food Network with my own show, Cathy’s Cupcakes, and here’s my bridal showpiece, The Fiddly Lace:
And finally, not being known as the most patient person on the earth, and after fussing over these things all afternoon, I present the granddaddy of them all. The F*ck It:
Looks faboolous I love dog poo the best
A breathtaking array of icing adornments! I like them all, quite frankly.
Pity we don’t have taste-o-web yet. That butter-cream icing is pretty darn good. It’s also my new favourite word. Butter-cream. Mmm nom nom.
MY GOD you are funny Cathy! You should do stand up. Seriously, I could not keep quiet when I read the last one!
And that would be my fav, of course… but the first one is how I do most of mine! Doggy Do-Do!
🙂

I am a huge fan of the spatula slathering method personally.
Cathy, you never cease to amaze me! Question? how come you didn’t share – even the “f” one would do!
