Hiking Climbing and Other Stuff

We found a great walking path yesterday, that took us to the top of a smallish mountain. Wonderful views, but of course I didn’t have my camera to document. We then zipped off to the “Centre of the Universe” which was closed, but this time I did have my camera!

We went to the Butchart Gardens, had our walk and tea, then went into town to pick up vitamins from the Vitamin Shop. We were both pretty tired, so we took Scenic Marine Drive home, put-putting through the rain, went to our room and ordered take-out.

Today, it took us a long time to get moving, but we drove out to Point No Point Resort which is past Sooke. It’s a magical place.

Michael and I shared a half litre of pinot grigio grown here in BC somewhere, and we both started with the chicken vegetable soup and soda bread, followed by a braised pork, caramelized onion and gorgonzola cheese thing wrapped up in a crepe, with a side of fresh greens. Delicious! For dessert we shared a creme brulee which was the vision of perfection. As wonderful as the food is, the best part is the walk to the rock and watch the ocean. The picture on my main page, of the red bridge, is this very destination. Other than the Butchart Gardens, this is my other favourite place on the planet.
